I just got home from birding Cooley Lake CA in Clay County after work today. There was a lone GLOSSY IBIS feeding in the shallow water on the flats just north of the south levy of the far north pool. It could be observed either at the lookout platform or the 1st little parking area south of the platform. The cloudy skies made for excellent viewing. The ibis was about 75 yards north of the levy that splits the pools. The pale blue really stood out on the face. This bird seemed to be much more colorful than the one at Squaw Creek. Maybe it was the lighting.

Other birds of note:

Little Blue Heron
Common Moorhen - calling from the marsh.

Shorebirds were way down from Tuesday evening.

Good Birding,
