There were several bobolinks this evening in the field around the fenced impoundment, mostly on the
south (golf course) side. Occasionally one or two birds would perch on the fence. They also liked to
hide in the clover on the impoundment slopes. The fields also had many cliff swallows, king birds,
and savannah sparrows. Around 10 sora were seen from the dike at the south end of the marsh. The am.
bitterns were heard, but were further in the marsh. Shorebirds in the impoundment included several
spotted s.p., semipalm plover (about 8), yellowlegs, pects, and some peeps.
