I birded Pershing State park (Linn Co.) and Swan Lake NWR yesterday
(05/04/05). Here are some highlights

Pershing SP

Barred owl

Northern parula

Yellow-throated warbler

Prothonotary warbler

Northern waterthrush

Common yellowthroat

Great crested flycatcher

Swamp sparrow

Lincoln's sparrow

Loads of white-throated sparrows

 

Swan Lake NWR

YELLOW CROWNED NIGHT-HERON (1 - in the ditch along the road at the east
entrance)

Red-shouldered hawk

American white pelican

Virginia rail

Shorebirds: Dowitcher spp., least, semipalmated, Barid's, pectoral and
spotted sandpipers, both yellowlegs, semipalmated plovers, killdeer.

White-crowned sparrow

White-throated sparrow

Harris's sparrow

Lark sparrow

Field sparrow

Song sparrow

Savannah sparrow
