MOBIRDers,

When you are in the field this winter, be sure and keep your eyes peeled for Trumpeter Swans with neck collar bands. With the loss of open water up north, there will likely be more of a chance to see birds from Iowa and maybe other states in Missouri. If you see one, please note both color and letters/numbers on the band.

You can report sightings of swans, or any other banded birds you encounter, either to me at [log in to unmask], or online at the National Banding Laboratory at http://www.pwrc.usgs.gov/bbl/

Thanks!
Andy Forbes, Boone County
