Birds seen at the Bean Lake Cabin from inside the house on 1/1/05:
Black-capped Chickadees (several)
Northern Cardinals (5)
White-crowned Sparrows (5)
RED-HEADED WOODPECKER (1) immature in yard since Nov. 13th, loves raw suet)
Downy Woodpecker (3)
Eastern Bluebirds (6)
Northern Flicker (2)
American Goldfinch (40+ at times, but not a Pine Siskin among them!)
Red-bellied Woodpecker (2)
Carolina Wren (2, believe a pair, sleep in 'straw hut' under eave)
American Robin (2)
RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH (2) (1 in yard since Oct. 1st, eats everything!)
Blue Jay (4)
Dark-eyed Junco (many)
Tufted Titmouse (5)
House Finch (several-not as many as other years)
White-breasted Nuthatch (2)
Tree Sparrow (10-12)
House Sparrow (1)
E.Starling (3)

Seen on walk around property on 1/1/05:
Sharpshin Hawk (1)
Red-tail Hawk (1)
Snow Geese (1000's fly-over)
Canada Geese (25 fly-bys)

At Bean Lake Cabin on 1/2/05 (in addition to most of above):
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker (1)
American Kestrel

On North Shore Drive at Sugar Lake on 1/2/05:
1 Bald Eagle, American Crows, Mallards, Morning Doves, Canada Geese...
no other water-fowl seen on this quick drive by.
