Took a ramble through Calhoun county (IL) today. Only sighting of note was flocks of peeps, seen from the boat ramp at the Bims Rd access to (upper?) Stump Lake. They were flying back and forth (peeping), almost over to the island. Water quite low, lots of stumps showing. Also seen there: green heron, GB heron, great egret, snowy egret, white pelican, killdeer, red-headed woodpecker, herds of turtles, turkey vultures.
