ILLINOIS birding,

I forward this to Mobirds to alert any interested East-siders that bird in
IL out of the St. Louis or Cape Girardeau areas.

Agree about the Wader numbers. Have not seen that many (except for one early
AM around MTC were I had over 100 Great Egrets)
AND Jackie's post about the Kingfishers too. Where are they? Busy with
nesting maybe?

Good Summer birding,
Charlene Malone
St. Louis co.

> On Wednesday (June 9, 2004), Dan found 3 BLACK-NECKED STILTS in the
> rice fields along Ditch Road near East Cape Girardeau (Alexander
> County). He also noted increased numbers of egrets. Our visit to
> this location last weekend yielded disturbingly poor numbers of
> waders: Only about 6 GREAT EGRETS and 2 LITTLE BLUE HERONS and an
> abysmal showing of GREAT BLUE HERONS.
