Expecting 4-6 inches of snow preceded by 1/4 to 1/2 inch of ice starting
later tonight. Birds must be anticipating the weather as they are at the
feeders in waves.

Had over 75 goldfinches at one time. Also am seeing 3 Eurasian Tree
Sparrows, 8 American Tree Sparrows and 12 Purple Finches along with the
usual suspects, White-breasted Nuthatches, Downy and Hairy Woodpeckers,
Northern Cardinals, Dark-eyed Juncos, Blue Jays...

Noticeably absent (and has been the case all year and most of last year) are
the House Finches. NOT ONE.

Feeding four socks of Thistle and two feeders of Black Oil Sunflower seeds
that hold approximately 5 lbs of seed each along with suet from Rutledge and
peanuts from Wild Birds....

Cooper's Hawk is around as well (Resident) and is making his presence known
about once an hour.
