100+/- AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS remain today, 1/20/04, lounging (more like
huddled trying to keep warm) around Clifton Terrace along Hwy 100 (Alton, IL
to Grafton, IL) Guess the water is warmer there due to the discharge from
the Sioux AmerenUE plant.
This is just across the state line in IL.
I have not done a real count, but one Chicago birder counted 188 birds on
1/13/04.
