he MODERN AUSTRIAN LITERATURE AND CULTURE ASSOCIATION, an Allied
Organization of the MLA,is seeking proposals for the following two
sessions, to be held at the 2004 MLA Convention in Philadelphia:


Grillparzer in the Context of 19th-Century Drama. Proposals relating
Grillparzer's ?uvre to the theory and practice of German/Austrian tragedy
and comedy. Abstracts by 15 March, 2004 to Clifford Bernd

Family Ties: Representations of Family in Modern Austrian Literature and
Culture. Papers examining representations of family (generational
conflicts; family and related issues such as gender, class, and race; the
cultural/ideological construction of family, etc.). Abstracts by 15 March,
2004 to Imke Meyer ([log in to unmask]).
