Riverlands EDA, St. Charles Co., Mo.
Bald eagles are starting to show in more numbers. There was one in a tree in
Ellis Bay and four more on least tern island.
Most of the activity was in Heron Pond, where hundreds of Mallards and other
ducks were present. Not much activitiy in Ellis Bay and the common loon that
was at the west end of Ellis Bay on Wednesday was not there.

1 great blue heron - Teal Pond
gadwall, 30 total - Teal Pond, Two Pecans Pond
7 hooded mergansers - Teal Pond
2 common goldeneye - Teal Pond
ring-billed gulls - several in the air
northern shovelers - Two Pecans Pond, Heron Pond, Pintail Pond
mallards - everywhere
Canada geese - everywhere
3 double-crested cormorant - Ellis Bay
Northern pintail - Heron Pond
Trumpeter swans - 5 in Heron Pond, 7 in Pintail Pond
2 northern harriers - west of Heron Pond over the grasslands (Dragonfly
Marsh)
20 American tree sparrows - near the pit toilets off Riverlands Way
1 white pelican - Ellis Bay
1 bufflehead - Pintail Pond
8 Bobwhite quail - end of Wise Road
