Forgot to add - IL bird
FISH CROW vocalizing - along the road to the Borrow Pit area near Bend Road/Gateway Race Track. High numbers of Crows and Gulls (nothing different)
It was like a scene from "The Birds" with hugh number of starlings, Crows. other icterids and gulls swirling around the landfill/Burger King/Gateway Race Track area. At least 6 red-tailed hawks joined the fray too.
Didn't see Tippi Hedron anywhere though.

Later,
Charlene

Not much going on today in the east either.
Weather not bad enough, I guess.

IL birds:
NO PACIFIC LOON (not even Common loons) seen at Horseshoe Lake SP, Madison co. despite the efforts of several birders.
All the hunter boat traffic probably chased them away.

HARLAN'S Red-tail Hawk & BLACK DUCKS - same area along Hwy 100 between Pere Marquette SP and Upper Stump road

PEREGRINE FALCON - 0n top of grain elevators in Alton, IL

MO birds:
2 SURF SCOTERS - Riverlands EDA near Dam. Seen along with Bill Rowe's birding class & other birders too.
At noon there were only a few to NO ducks in Ellis Bay, but after 3 - 3:30 PM small numbers of waterfowl and lots of gulls started coming back to roost.

Later,
Charlene Malone
St. Louis co.
