In the old days of our family, before the Big Argument, we had pasta and ragł (= meat sauce... but made by my grandma), lots of vegetables cooked in any way, potatoes, some chicken, fruit, and the 'panettone' or 'pandoro' to end the luncheon perfectly. It's the typical xmas cake...
Some families sit at lunch for a whole afternoon, you see... :)
