Dan Kassebaum and co-horts did a Big Day yesterday, 11/1/03, around Carlyle
and came up with 106 birds. See IL listserve on Siler's website.
Yes, they missed the Say's Phoebe, but they also missed C. Geese.
They had some really great finds though:
W-W Scoters, Leconte's AND N. S-T sparrows, Harris's sparrow, DICKCISSEL,
etc.
This beats out their previous record of 99 birds.

I searched for the Say's this afternoon.  No luck.  No perching birds
whatsoever in the area.  I did, however, serve as a landing spot for many,
many lady bugs and also provided support for several spiderwebs while I sat
in my chair waiting for the phoebe.
