St. Louis birders,

ILLINOIS birds:

Carlyle Lake, Parking Lot #3 (roads are just fine leading to PL #3)
- BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER - one buffie seen at the very beginning of the
mudflats on the west side of the levee (Speaker Lake)
- one PIPING PLOVER - walk out to the second point of land that extends west
(right) from the main levee (lots of gulls lounging in this area) About 20
yards out from the end of this point is where the bird was found.
- 2 BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS seen near the Piping Plover
- one adult LAUGHING GULL

Dan Kassebaum, David Becher, Myrna Deaton and Travis Mahan had some of the
following much further down the levee:
- Wilson's Phalarope
- Ruddy turnstone
- both dowitchers
- stilt sp
A cornucopia of shorebirds.
- NO Spoonbill or White Ibis though.

I'm sure I didn't recall all of the good birds that they saw, so David will
probably have more to add to the list.
