Was surprised to find a singing MOURNING warbler this morning about 300
yards upstream from the boat launch while doing census work at Castlewood SP.For
sure the latest mourning I have seen around St Louis.
About an hour later heard then found a CONNETICUT WARBLER near the western
edge of the park along the Grotpeter trail! (Could hear a Kentucky singing just
a hundred feet away)
The CONNETICUT was in the understory where the grotpeter trail crosses
Kiefer creek rd.The bird would fly back and forth across the road
