SO far as I can tell you've received no reply
to this request, unless it happened off list.

The author was Louis Menand, and the issue was, I believe in
early October of 2002, judging by what correspondence I have
saved from that time.

Could someone please tell me exactly the author and title of the piece in
_The New Yorker_ which reviewed _The Painted Veil_ on Vivien and was
entitled something like "Who Cares about Eliot's Sex Life?" Also, what was
the date of that story?
