Went back to Riverlands this afternoon (roughly 1-3). Saw a very odd, off-color duck (white w/ tan splotches) in Teal Pond -- probably a mallard x domestic. Along Riverlands Way, on the one really LARGE, semipermanent "bar" right by the road -- mixed flock of at least 4 dunlin, some spotted sandpipers, and many tiny, very brown sandpipers (Least??). The leasts were running about so fast, made the others look like they were moving in slow motion. On the sides of Cora Island Rd, small flock of ETS, and at least one curious savannah sparrow. At 2 Pecan Tree Pond (soon to be 1 pecan tree, from the appearance of the tree closer to the road), saw first canada goslings of season; on the mud in the sheltered portion of Ellis Bay, first mallard ducklings of the season. Large flock of pelicans landed while i was there -- they really appreciated the wind.
