MISSOURI BIRDS:
Riverlands EDA, St. Charles co. 5/1/03 after 6 PM (limited time so not all
birds IDed)
HERON POND::
20 dowitchers - at least one SHORT-BILLED, one LONG-BILLED
one female WILSON'S PHALAROPE
several of both yellowlegs, pects

DRAGONFLY POND:
Heard SEDGE WRENS

ELLIS BAY:
4 DUNLIN
Semi-palmated sandpipers
Least sandpipers
4 Caspian terns
6 Forster's terns
8 CATTLE EGRETS (weird to see them there in with all the gulls and terns) -
no Franklin's
2 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE - across from Wise road. No babies yet.

WEST ALTON BOAT RAMP/ Fishermen's parking lot (birds had moved to location
much farther away)
one AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER
4 B-B PLOVERS
both yellowlegs, pects (TLTC - too lazy to count)
little bitty guys too far away to ID
There has to be something else more interesting there. (wishful thinking?)

ILLINOIS BIRDS:
ALTON BELLE CASINO - ~ 10 COMMON NIGHTHAWKS flying straight above the
"smokestacks". Could see them in the light hawking insects. Very neat.
