Of interest at Sunshine Lake (Ray Co.) 4/20/03:

American White Pelican - ~150
Snow Goose - 4
Killdeer - 7
Greater Yellowlegs - 11
Lesser Yellowlegs - 14
WILLET - 2
peeps in flight - ~10
Bonaparte's Gull - 1
Lark Sparrow - 5 (first of year)
Savannah Sparrow - ~100 littering roadsides... obviously in peak migration

There is much more standing water in the area now, which probably explains
the lower numbers and variety of shorebirds I was able to see today (more
hiding places on private property and out of sight of public roads).

I found a 10 x 10 ft. puddle at Cooley Lake (Clay Co.) but it's still mostly
dry and choked with weeds.
