St. Louis birders,
Anyone in the need for large numbers of shorebirds in the St. L area,

Dan Kassebaum called with the following report:
Parking lot #3/Speaker lake area at Carlyle Lake (see www.wgnss.org for
location/map) has EXCELLENT shorebird habitat, best he has ever seen.
(but after tonight's rains, who knows what the water levels will be, BUT
those storms arriving at 2-4 AM in the St. L area could bring in something
good.)

Birds of note:
Lesser yellowlegs - 800
Greater yellowlegs - 50
Pectoral sp - 500
BAIRD'S SP - 15
WESTERN SP - 1
Semipalmated plovers - 11
Long-billed dowitchers - 4
Least sp - 3
Solitary sp - 2
Spotted sp - 2
American Golden Plovers - approx. 80 total seen around the lake in fields

Passerines mentioned were the ones many have posted seeing already.

Good birding
