I saw an unbanded immature Mute Swan near the Camp Branch marina of
Smithville Lake January 3, 1998. The bird was reported variously as a
Trumpeter Swan and as a Tundra Swan a couple of days previously. I went out
to see which it was and discovered that it was a Mute Swan. I don't believe
it stayed long.

After receiving a "heads up" from Frances Cramer:

On March 14, 1996 I observed a single Mute Swan in the vicinity of Lewis
and Clark State Park. Origin unknown.
