Ed McCullough (sorry if spelling is incorrect) found a male BARROW'S
GOLDENEYE at Riverlands EDA, St. Charles co, 3/2/03, Sunday mid to late
afternoon.
It was seen in Ellis Bay approximately behind the Rivers Project Office.
Others present (Charley Burwick, Lisa Berger and the Malones) couldn't
refind this bird (as of 5 PM)........BUT this doesn't mean it's still not
there. Be on the look-out for this bird if birding this coming week.
Everything was a TOUGH find due to wind and cold. NO to little ice left, so
birds were moving around, etc.............eye strain/headache and just being
birded-out for me..excuses, excuses
Did manage to re-find (Ellis Bay across from Teal Pond up to Wise road)
1 (maybe 2) 1w GREAT BLACK BACKED GULL
2 (then only one later in the day) LONG-TAILED DUCK
1 - 1w ICELAND GULL
adult THAYER'S Gull - first pull-of past the Rivers Project Office.

Most of the birds (waterfowl and gulls) were concentrated in Ellis Bay from
the Fisca Station to about the outdoor johns further down Riverlands Way
road.

Glad to met Mobirders from the W and SW. Hope you all got hope OK. :-)
Glad to see St. L birders I don't normally get to see too. :-)

Later,
Charlene Malone.......zzzzzzzzzz
Chesterfield, MO/St. Louis co.
