Scientific American magazine's April, 2003 issue (hmmm, April) has the following on page 103, it's "Ask the Experts" page: Q. Which month is the cruelest? -- I. Newton, Cambridge, England T.S. Eliot, treasurer of the Dead Poets Society, replies: April is the cruelest[sic] month, breeding lilacs out of the dead land, mixing memory and desire, stirring dull roots with spring rain.
