Apparently a small group of TRUMPETER SWANS has traveled through Franklin/Crawford counties in years past. Small flocks 4-6 have appeared in small farm ponds through the years. This time 3 have been spotted at Blue Springs Conservation Area in Crawford County. To visit these magnificent birds, take hwy N south of Bourbon to near the junction of N and Thickety Ford road. There's a small pull-off at a pond on the south side of the road. These birds were there yesterday and have been for a couple of weeks. Good birding!
