Talk about picking a needle out of a haystack! Was at CoR today 1130 or so, to show my wife the beach there, and the REAL chain of rocks; also, to take our new dog for her daily walk. There was a veritable cloud of gulls flying out over the dam, and probably at least as many more on the various rock ledges and sandbars that are currently above water. Took a short stroll along the beach, until the dog got balky -- did a fair imitation of th MO state animal. Don't know how the people up on the bridge could stand it. For all the weather wizards were predicting a high pushing 40, our car thermometer was reading 28° when we drove out. On the way over, along Riverview Blvd between Chambers Rd and I270, saw at least 10 eagles soaring along the face of the bluff. Wonder if the Eagle Days organizers 'baited' some of the trees along there?
