Maybe a line to draw them in  "Northeastern Missouri deserves to have
its rich and varied habitats and diversity of wildlife become better
known and appreciated."

And then the gentle economic kicker, "As birders have become quite
important economically, the welcoming reputation of NE Missouri will
ensure its growing popularity as a great place for a birder to visit!"

That National Public Radio piece on January 1 simply astounded me when
it said that in Idaho - Idaho! -birders' spending had surpassed that of
hunters.
