Although I appreciate Edge's attempt not to offend those (who?) who favor an
extremely narrow focus for MOBIRDS, I think that withholding material such
as County of the Week, or bird listings from adjacent states (good grief!)
would greatly and unnecessarily reduce the value and charm of this forum.

I suppose that highlights of overseas trips of out-of-state outings
sponsored by Missouri birders and birding organizations, are technically
outside the scope of this forum. But let's keep things in perspective!

I doubt that such marginally off-topic posts (or even the occasional attempt
at non-birdy humor) pose the same risk of losing access to the MU server
system (or to the good graces of our fellow MOBIRDers) as do the occasional
discussion of overtly political topics. But then, that's just my opinion,
and I could be wrong!
