John (and all other MoBirders),

Thanks for the tip...I made the trip up from the bootheel, leaving at 3:30 am and arriving at REDA about 6:30 am (had to stop for breakfast!)...
I had the  Scoters by 6:45, also the best look EVER at a Peregrine Falcon (it sat on the steel fence/barrier that lines Riverland Way next to Ellis Bay)...I watched it from about 15 feet in my truck before it flew off. Beautiful! Saw everything being reported i think...loons, grebes, mergs, canvasback, ruddy's, bufflehead, etc...   Thanks again!

Leslie

I had a hot line message recorded sometime between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm today that two black scoters were seen in Ellis Bay roughly across from Heron Pond today, Nov .1

As to the white-winged scoter at Creve Couer Lake,  it was not seen by quite a few birders from around 1:00 pm -  e:30 pm today.  This group included the original observers, Charlene Malone and Mike Grant.

The Prairie falcon was also searched for today to no avail.

Could someone knowledgeable please give anupdate ASAP on the scoters at REDA
as of 11/01/2002?  I'd like to try for them Saturday morning. Thanks!
