The Prairie Falcon was back at Little Creve Coeur Lake about 4:00 PM Saturday, November 2. It flew from west to east across the cornfield north of Seeger's golf driving range, landed on a tall metal electrical transmission tower, and then flew south to the next such tower.
A couple of hours earlier, at Castlewood State Park (in the tall trees near the Meramec River) I saw a Yellow-Billed Cuckoo. Was that an unusually late sighting for this species?
