St. Louis Audubon sponsored walk at Riverlands Environmental Demo. Area, 11/9/02 MEET: TIME - 8 AM until noon or later (half day walk. Can leave at any time) WHERE - Teal Parking lot WHAT to bring: - Bins and Scope needed to view birds in the bay and River (scope views can be had from others if you don't own a scope) - water/drink and snacks for half day - field guides - FRS radios tuned to 11/22 DRESS: For the weather - cool/cold in the AM and heating up to 50's to 60's in the afternoon Comfortable hiking shoes. TARGET BIRDS: Please note: with the warming weather (with possible windy conditions), the birding could be slow. We are targeting the SCOTERS, and other returning waterfowl, pelicans, swans, gulls, raptors, sparrows. BTW, the bird feeders are up at the office now, so hopefully that will draw in some sparrows.
