Spent the weekend at the Bull Shoals Field Station in the Drury CA (Taney County). Birds of interest: Osprey - 1 Pileated Woodpecker - 3 Sharp-shinned Hawk - 2 Common Loon - 8 Loon sp. - 2 (probably common, but seemed a little smaller) Grebe sp. - 1 (looked like a horned, but too far away to be sure) Red-headed Woodpecker - 10 Belted Kingfisher - 1 Golden-crowned Kinglet - 2 Double-crested Cormorant - 5 Ring-billed Gull - 5 Ducks - 60 (one raft, appeared to be scaup, but I was way too far away to be sure) The loons were vocalizing and the grebe was associating with a group of 9 loons. The 2 unknown loons were in this larger group of 9 total loons. Also had a single loon yesterday (the group was this morning). Best regards, Blake Mathys Springfield, Greene Co. _________________________________________________________________ Choose an Internet access plan right for you -- try MSN! http://resourcecenter.msn.com/access/plans/default.asp ________________________________________________ * Audubon Society of Missouri's * * Wild Bird Discussion Forum * *-----------------------------------------------* * To unsubscribe send the message * * SIGNOFF MOBIRDS-L * * to [log in to unmask] * * To subscribe send the message * * SUBSCRIBE MOBIRDS-L your name * * to [log in to unmask] * *-----------------------------------------------* * To access the list archives from July 2002: * * http://po.missouri.edu/archives/mobirds-l.html* #################################################
