Four old men birded Smithville, MO  Lake today,  The more interesting bird sightings included
an American Avocet mixing with a flock of Bonaparte, Franklin and Ring-billed gulls at the marina located south of Paradise on Collins Rd. on the east arm of the lake.  They were located on the rocky point extending south into the lake on which gulls are frequently found.

Also seen were several flocks of  Eastern Blue Birds. Each of four of the flocks had more than 50 individuals.

We saw our first flock of Snow Geese fly over and hundreds of Gadwall Ducks on the lake and
on the ponds around the lake.
