Four Old Men birded Baker Wetlands south of
Lawrence, KS.,Thursday at the east entrance where the following were seen sparrows: Song, Nelson's
Sharp-tailed, LeConte's, White-throated, and Lincoln's; Marsh and Sedge Wrens; and numerous Yellow-rumped Warblers.
We also birded Clinton and Perry Lakes.
Hugh flocks of White Pelicans and Franklin Gulls
were seen along with Ring-billed and Bonaparte's
Gulls.
What impressed us most was the small numbers of
ducks and geese.
