**The French Interdisciplinary is accepting submissions for a special
issue on "Visual Arts in Nineteenth Century Western Europe." Papers should
be submitted under the below stated guidelines, no later than 15 January
2003.

The French Interdisciplinary, a graduate journal for French and
Interdisciplinary Studies, seeks submissions for upcoming issues. Papers
may address topics including (but not limited to) : literature, performance
and fine arts, critical theory, film, philosophy, psychology, gender and
queer studies, science, and medicine. The journal will accept submissions on
a rolling basis with publication in both February and October. Please send
two copies of articles (approx. 3,500-5,000 words in length, typed,
double-spaced and containing parenthetical or internal citations
throughout,and a works-cited page in accordance with the Chicago Manual of
Style [14th ed.]), along with a cover letter bearing the author's name,
paper title,and a short summary of the text to The French Interdisciplinary,
CUNY-the Graduate Center, c/o Department of French, 365 5th Avenue, New
York, NY 10016.  Submission is limited to students who have not yet
completed the doctoral dissertation.  Articles in English or French
