Eliot is often credited with having rediscovered the Metaphysicals, =
but the poets of the 1890s (decadents like Symons, Johnson, Gray and =
other companions of the Cheshire Cheese) were already interested in =
Cavalier poetry. Of course, Eliot became much more influential than any =
of them.=20
The revival of interest in the Metaphysicals in the 1890s is =
documented in a chapter of Murray Pittock's book _Spectrum of =
Decadence_. (Routledge)
If anybody knows of other books / essays on the subject, I'd be =
interested to hear from them too. =20

I am a student from India. I would like to seek help from you =
about How Donne or for that matter rest of the metaphysicals were =
received in the Pre-Eliot phase in Europe, especially during the 19th =
Century.
I eagerly await information about any =
bibligraphy/essay/writeups/websites etc.=20
