The renowned poet, T. S. Eliot, also had a career as an influential
editor and social commentator. Until recently, only ten percent of his
voluminous critical writings were available to the public. This year
marks the completion of the major scholarly effort to make all of
Eliot’s prose accessible to a new generation of readers. In honor of
this event, please join us for an Eliot Symposium with two of the
editors of the most recent volumes of The Complete Prose of T. S. Eliot
(Johns Hopkins Press). Dr. David Chinitz (Loyola University Chicago) and
Dr. Jayme Stayer (John Carroll University) will discuss their editorial
work on Eliot’s later prose writings and will then join Dr. Julia Daniel
(Baylor, English Dept.) for a panel discussion on New Directions in
Eliot Studies. Please join us!
This event will be held on Thursday, January 18, and Friday, January 19
at the Armstrong Browning Library on Baylor University’s campus.
