For more than a year, we (Sanne Terlingen (OneWorld), Huub Jaspers (VPRO Argos - Dutch public radio) and Hanna Möllers (Radio Bremen (tv)) are investigating the death of an Eritrean asylumseeker.
He got asylum in the Netherlands in October 2013, disappeared just before Christmas and was found dead on the 5th of January in Bremen, Germany, hanging at a tree.
The German police concluded: suicide. But they didn't have all the information. We found serious links with people smuggling and probably even organ trafficking (migrants paying for their journey with a kidney).
There might be links with Italy (we got some help from IRPI already, thanks Cecilia), Libya and some Scandinavian countries, and maybe other European countries.
We will broadcast and publish the results on the 12th of September. But if someone is working on a related topic and want to share information, or wants to check if some of our findings match with other cases, please don't hesitate to contact us.
For those who are interested in what we discover when we visited the park where the body was found, here is the trailer video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=014m_eehvpI&feature=youtu.be (English subtitles).
