I am no expert on Alaska birds but I have observed very yellow - orange crowned wablers on the Kenai pennisula. I have never seen an Arctic loon in Alaska and lived there for 5 years and have visited many times. However, I have seen common, Pacific, and yellow billed loons in the Kenai and in the area you visited. Hope this helps.

> An adult White-crowned Sparrow was brought in to Wild Bird Rehabilitation(Overland, Mo.) this afternoon. Unfortunately, it succumbed to its injuries from a cat. I photo graphed the bird and have permission from the woman who brought it in to document if necessary. She is not a birder nor does she have feeders out. A random encounter from St. Ann, Mo.
