– Call for Papers –
Proposals for papers to be presented at the Ninth International Conference of the Society for Emblem Studies are requested.
Following on from the successes of the 1987 and 1990, the conference will focus on both traditional lines of research, and on the new directions of the future. Papers on all aspects of emblematics and applied emblematics will be welcomed. These might include, but are not limited to, books, buildings,mentalities, printers’ marks, publicity, paintings and websites. 2011 also marks the 400th anniversary of Rollenhagen’s Nucleus emblematum selectissimorum. Papers on this highly influential emblem book will be welcome.
The Conference will run concomitantly with an exhibition on Applied Emblematics at the Hunterian Art Gallery, Glasgow.
Titles and abstracts for 20 minutes papers should be sent to Dr Laurence Grove preferably by email
([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>), to be received by 31th May 2010.
Papers should, ideally, be offered in English, French, German or Spanish.
