Nature, the Environment and Environmentalism: An Ecocritical Approach to German Literature
Nature and the role of humans in nature has been an important feature of German literature, art and culture since the Middle Ages. Whether it has been represented as an opportunity for the development of the individual, a threat to a person's well-being, a place for members of certain socio-economic groups to escape society's constraints or as an opportunity to find solace and a venue for reflection, nature and humankind's place in it has been and continues to be a prominent theme in German literature, art and culture.
This special session invites submissions that take an eco-critical approach to German literature, art and culture from any period of German cultural and literary history.
Please submit abstracts electronically via KFLC's central abstract submission site
Deadline for submission of abstracts:: November 1, 2009 at: http://www.kflcabstracts.uky.edu <https://owa.ku.edu/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=https://owa.ku.edu/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.kflcabstracts.uky.edu/>
