A good job is not "the point" of education. To say so is to deny the very meaning of education and make it only training.

I believe that the point, really, is that times have changed.? The point of a college education is to obtain a good or great job, period.? Before the "post modern" age, the idea of becoming educated simply for the sake of being educated was not uncommon, though career objectives were sometimes a part of the greater plan, also.
