Some of the bios have pictures of him in a swimsuit by the sea. And of
course he loved sailing in Massachusetts as a youth, but he didn't keep that
up in England. I can't think of any extra-literary hobbies he might have
had, other than listening to Beethoven on his record player and going to
church, and the occasional game of bowls with the Woolves. He had some pets
