Should we set up a not-for-profit company and try
to distribute all TSE audio and visual materials?
I'd love to have both the Fiona Shaw and the
Murder in the Cathedral videos.

Subject: Re: Shaw / Warner _TWL_ availability?
I don't have any answers, but I think a person to
check with would be
David Chinitz, whose latest book is on Eliot and
popular culture. He
has been working on that for years.

Strange that it would not be available, having
aired so recently. I did
a quick check on e-bay -- surprising what can
sometimes be found there
-- but, unfortunately, the answer to your question
"can I help", is
I can sympathize though (for what that's worth).
I've spent years
occassionally searching for any format containing
1950's film of "Murder in the Cathedral". Though
there's a book on the
making of the film, the film itself is available
no-where on line, and
not to be had even by pilgrimage to Cantebury
itself (as my sister
informed me after a recent trip there). But at
least that is old enough
that the unavailability seems more understandable.
I saw the Shaw performance when it was in NYC (I
forget the year). I
found it well worthwhile. It is, of course, far
shorter than a feature
