Call for Papers for the Germanic Languages and Literatures section of
the annual meeting of the Michigan Academy of Science, Arts & Letters.
The meeting will be held March 4-5, 2005 at Eastern Michigan University
in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The meeting is open to all, including
participants from outside of Michigan. Twenty-minute papers are welcome
on any aspect of German Studies, including German literature, popular
culture, film, and the teaching of language and literature. 200-word
abstracts of the paper must be submitted by November 6, 2004 to Jennifer
Redmann, Germanic Languages and Literatures Section Chair, Department of
German, Kalamazoo College, 1200 Academy St., Kalamazoo, MI, 49006.
E-mail submissions preferred; send abstract (both in body of message and

abstract, please include the following information: 1. Name of
Presenter; 2. Affiliation; 3. Status (Faculty, Graduate); 4. Complete
Address; 5. Phone Number; 6. E-Mail Address; 7. Title of Paper. The
Michigan Academy of Science, Arts & Letters is dedicated to scholarly
exchange through an annual conference and a quarterly journal, the
Michigan Academician. The meetings of the Michigan Academy are held on
the campus of an affiliated Michigan college or university each year.
The meetings include papers, symposia, special sessions on featured
topics, and several social events. Presenters are encouraged to submit
papers for possible publication in the Michigan Academician, a
