German Culture and Literature Area: "German TV."
Papers are invited for a panel on German television. What is the
relationship between public and private stations? How does programming
differ? What are the most popular programs, and why? How is television
structured as an industry? Which role do commercials play? What is the
relationship and ratio between “German” and “foreign” programs? How do
German reality TV shows differ from their American equivalents?
Please send 200 word abstracts for a 15-minute presentation and a brief CV
by October 31, 2004. Electronic submissions are welcome.
