Instead of trying to continuously find fault you might try reading what I
wrote. I wrote " The reader reads the poem is confused, goes back to the
title and says "Ah hah, the train has just passed through a station and in
the momentary flash of light the author has seen several faces almost like a
strobe light". I didn't say that Pound had seen it that way. I said "The
Reader" and I didn't identify the reader. The reader happens to be a quite
well known Pound scholar.
Pound in fact spent quite a bit of time reducing what he saw down into the
two lines that he published.
