sophistication." It seems doubtful to me that someone who had mastered
Egyptian hieroglyphics would have felt a very great need to prove
anything about his intellect. :-) It almost seems that in doing an
English translation of one of the poems Pound was honoring his
son-in-law more than his son-in-law was attempting to impress me.
