For those who don't know it, get _Understanding Poetry_, or "Brooks and
Warren" as it is commonly called. It is textbook, but also anthology,
and best of all, there is fine writing about poetry and poems. Warren
wrote _Understanding Fiction_, too, again with Cleanth Brooks. (Another
must-read is Brooks' _The Well Wrought Urn_.)
