Allusion frequently comes up in our discussions of Eliot. Attempts to
define or limit allusion comes up almost as often. A new collection of
essays on the subject has just been published: _Allusion to the Poets_,
by Christopher Ricks. There are almost three dozen references to Eliot
in the index, though no chapter on him. There are chapters on poets
Eliot cared about, as well as chapters on "allusion's affiliations"
(says the blurb). Pulished by Oxford UP. Out in UK, not yet in USA.
